Up for sale is an extremely rare vintage Seiko Quartz LC 0114-0020 men’s digital sports watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1970s. This early Seiko digital model represents an important step in the evolution of LCD watch design and is one of the earliest digital watches to display time, day, and date.
The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are working properly, including timekeeping and a working backlight.
All parts of the watch are original, including the case and bracelet. The watch comes complete with its original Seiko presentation box and original Seiko warranty card.
The watch is in great physical condition with signs of use and age. The mark seen on the dial is not a scratch or chip, but appears to be a discoloration or possible air bubble beneath the crystal. The photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY
Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
